Lighting Science Group produces 1m LED bulbs in three months

Lighting Science Group CEO Jim Haworth presents 2 millionth LED bulb to EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson during Florida visit

LED lighting manufacturer Lighting Science Group (OTCBB: LSCG) has produced one million LED bulbs in the first quarter of the year.
For years, high-output and low-cost LED lighting products had been just out of reach, but Lighting Science Group said it has “revolutionized the science of light in America” to produce lighting products that deliver on the promise of LED technology.
From the International Space Station to the Times Square Ball to other projects in major cities across the world and now in homes, Lighting Science Group’s LED solutions are increasing energy independence and saving consumers, businesses and governments significant amounts of money.
“Today, we celebrate not only past successes, but encouraging present trends, and the promise of a sustainable, job-creating, green future made possible by LED lighting solutions,” said Jim Haworth, chief executive officer of Lighting Science Group.
“Indicative of our company’s solid growth and numerous accomplishments is that while last year we produced and sold 1 million bulbs primarily in the second half of last year, this year, we surpassed the 1 million bulb milestone in just a few months.
“While we’re incredibly pleased with our dramatic expansion in manufacturing capacity, we also take great pride in the quality and performance of our products. We had the first and now, the most, ENERGY STAR qualified bulbs—so today, it is quite special for our team to welcome the head of the ENERGY STAR program, Administrator Jackson, and to share our technology advances and operational capabilities with her.”
“These LED lights prevent harmful emissions from entering our air, while also cutting electricity costs for American families and creating jobs for American workers,” said Administrator Lisa P. Jackson.
“We’re proud to join with Lighting Science Group and all our ENERGY STAR partners to show how protecting our environment inspires new innovations and builds off one of America’s greatest talents: using ingenuity to improve our economy while at the same time improving our health and the health of our children. Innovations like these are critical to a clean, secure and affordable energy future.”
With the financial help and support of Pegasus Capital Advisors and other investors, Lighting Science Group has built a thriving company in the United States.
The company’s world-class expertise in LED lighting research, design, development and assembly has allowed it to move high performance and affordable LED products to market at a rate unmatched by many other lighting companies.      www.bgocled.com
